Jamie Gatti Bass
Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Jamie has a reputation for versatility in playing all musical styles from classical, to jazz, rock, Celtic and theatre. A professional bassist for 35 years, Gatti has toured and recorded with many artists from around the globe, and has been fortunate to work under conductors such as Boris Brott, David Foster, Erich Kunzel, Newton Waylon and Howard Cable. He has frequently performed with Symphony Nova Scotia and at Neptune Theatre in Halifax. Gatti has recorded 4 CDs, all solo bass themed, with original tunes and rearranged standards. Tom Roach Drums
One of Nova Scotia's leading jazz drummers, Tom Roach is a staple on the Halifax jazz scene, performing all over the province with a wide range of musical groups. He studied music at Berklee in Boston and continued private studies with Bob Gullotti, Jack DeJohnette and the late Ed Blackwell among others. Performing as many as 250 shows a year, his travels have taken him to concert halls and festivals across Canada, throughout most of the continental U.S., and to many European countries. After years of extensive touring, Tom pursued an opportunity to stay at home and continue working as a professional musician, and in 2001 he joined The Stadacona Band of The Royal Canadian Navy. He has played on over 100 recordings as a freelance drummer, and his first recording as a bandleader, Piano Trios, was named Jazz Recording of the Year at the 2005 ECMAs.
Chris Mitchell Saxophone
A versatile musician, Chris Mitchell is a sought after talent across a variety of genres, performing with a myriad of artist’s including David Foster, Natalie Cole, Lionel Richie, Ray Charles, Rosemary Clooney, Phil Woods, Kenny Wheeler, Jackie Richardson and Doug Riley to name a few. Chris recently toured with The Afro Cuban Jazz and Beyond Quintet featuring Ignacio Berroa, Hilario Duran, Roberto Occhipinti and Jorge Luis Torres. Chris has also toured extensively in North America, Europe and in Asia and has also performed with a numerous symphony orchestras across Canada and in Europe. His extensive experience as a performer, composer and arranger has culminated in the production of four solo instrumental albums to date. As a result of his 1997 release “ The Witches of Red eard ” featuring the late jazz icon Phil Woods, The Chris Mitchell Quintet was the recipient of the prestigious “Prix De Jazz DuMaurier” performing at the 1999 Montreal Jazz Festival. He runs his own successful production company – MitchMusic.
Lisa MacDougall Piano / Band Leader
Lisa's talents as a singer, pianist, and musical director have taken her around the world, performing with the likes of jazz singer Molly Johnson, Roger Whittaker, and folk icon Rita MacNeil. With a busy touring schedule, Lisa considers herself truly fortunate. She has worked at many of Canada's major theatres, most recently at Edmonton's Mayfield Theatre (Nashville Icons, Super Groovy 70′s parts 1 & 2, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, History of Rock ‘n Roll, Folkswaggin’: Music of the People, Top of the Pops). Known to Halifax audiences for her solo performances as an R&B vocalist/pianist, as well as her Merritt-Award-nominated work as musical director and musician at Neptune Theatre (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Buddy Holly Story, Flying On Her Own, La Cage Aux Folles, Elf, Legally Blonde, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, The Rocky Horror Show, Cats, Annie, Chicago, The Sound of Music, Evita, Oliver, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins), Lisa returns to Neptune's stage as pianist and band leader for "The Songs of The Rat Pack".
Olivia McGinn Stage Manager
After working with Geordie Brown as Production Stage Manager for The Advent Show for the past two years, Olivia is thrilled to be a part of such a talented team for The Songs of The Rat Pack. Previous Stage Management credits for Theatre include: Story of a Sinking Man (Atlantic Fringe Festival), Apprentice on A Christmas Story (Neptune Theatre), Lady Windermere's Fan (DalTheatre), Heathers: The Musical (Whalesong Theatre). Olivia is looking forward to working with Festival Antigonish for the first time this summer.
